DONE DEAL: Liverpool has signed a £50m ‘superb’ Premier League midfielder

Liverpool stepping up efforts to sign ‘superb’ Premier League midfielder

Liverpool are reportedly stepping up their efforts to sign Cheick Doucoure, with the Crystal Palace player emerging as the Reds new top midfield target.

According to the Independent, the Anfield side will push to bring the Mali international to Merseyside having identified Doucoure as their new priority having missed out on Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo.

As per the report, there is optimism that a deal for Doucoure could be done for less than £50m, a potential transfer that would represent incredible value in the transfer market.

Lauded by the Evening Standard as a ‘superb’ player, Doucoure impressed in his first season in the Premier League last year with Palace, with Liverpool seemingly taking notice of the midfielder’s performances.

At 23-years-old, Doucoure is at the perfect age of being young enough to develop further whilst also having enough experience in England to start almost immediately for Liverpool.

Indeed, Liverpool will have to move fast if they’re to sign Doucoure this summer, with the Reds having just two weeks left in the window to secure a deal for the Palace superstar.

Liverpool have to put in the work now to sign Doucoure

Liverpool know they dropped the ball with Lavia and Caicedo earlier this month, which is why the Reds are now fully aware that they can’t repeat this mistake with Doucoure.

The Mali international starred for Palace last season and was a key player for the Eagles as they comfortably stayed up in the Premier League under Roy Hodgson.

And for Liverpool, Doucoure could be the defensive midfielder Jurgen Klopp needs to really push on this season, with the player himself likely to revel in the chance of playing for one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.
