Report: Wolves has signed an English midfielder with 17 goal contributions

Wolves have reportedly made an approach for Burnley midfielder Josh Brownhill, and are set to test the Clarets’ resolve with a bid.

Wanderers have just two weeks left in the window now, and just two new faces have come in so far.

Tom King and Matt Doherty have come in on frees.

But Wolves have been struggling to make more additions given the club’s financial situation.

Wolves need to turn a significant profit, and it is thought that the club need more players sales on top of the handful that have already left.

Wolves eyeing Burnley star Josh Brownhill again

TEAMtalk have reported today that Wolves have no made an approach for Brownhill.

It is suggested that a bid could be forthcoming from the club, for a player they have long admired.

Brownhill only has one year left on his contract now at Turf Moor.

It is stated that there is a strong possibility he could be sold, despite manager Vincent Kompany being keen to keep him.

Brownhill – who scored seven goals and made 10 assists last term – was actually left out of Burnley’s first game of the season against Manchester City last week.

Currently there is no mention of any asking price set by Burnley.

We shall see if this goes anywhere, but Brownhill seems to be a player Wolves have been linked with on and off for some time now.

Perhaps there is a deal to be done, with the player only having a year left.

Him being left out against City might suggest that he could be close to departing.

The Clarets recently signed Sander Berge, and he is direct competition for Brownhill.

Brownhill would be a decent addition to the squad. He was named on the shortlist for PFA Championship Player of the Season last term.

But the most important thing for O’Neil is for a new centre-back to arrive.
