IT’S OFFICIAL: Liverpool has signed a £30m midfielder

Tim Sherwood is ‘sure’ Liverpool will end up signing £20m midfielder

Ryan Gravenberch has been heavily-linked to Liverpool at different stages of the summer transfer window

Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Tim Sherwood believes that Liverpool will sign Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich this summer.

The Dutchman’s name has been a recurrence throughout the summer whilst speculation has latched onto the Liverpool midfield rebuild, although rumours went particularly cold once Alexis Mac Allister and Dominic Szoboszlai had come through the entrance whilst Jordan Henderson and Fabinho’s exits were the talk of the town.

However after rebuffs in the battles for Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia, Gravenberch has once again been tipped to join most recent signing Wataru Endo in leaving the Bundesliga for Merseyside.

A large part of the midfielder’s demands for the upcoming season were to do with game time. In his maiden year at Bayern he only started three matches, leading to an interview with ESPN during June’s international matches in which he stated he does ‘not want another year like that’.

Already provided a hint at what the new season will look like having sat on the bench for entirety of the German champions’ league opener on Friday, a move could well be on the cards. Sherwood is one that certainly feels strongly that his time in Germany won’t last much longer.

Assessing Liverpool’s title chances on Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday two days ago, the 54-year-old said: “If you looked at their squad at the moment, can they be the champions of the Premier League again? Absolutely not.

“But anything can happen in the next couple of weeks.

“I am sure Ryan Gravenberch will go in there, the midfield player from Bayern. Hasn’t played since he has been there.”

The rumours linking the 21-year-old have picked up again in recent days with journalist Rudy Galetti suggesting the player his moving up the Reds’ list of midfield targets before the window closes.
