Jamie Vardy sends Cesare Casadei message after Leicester City heroics

The latest Leicester City news as the midfielder made an instant impact by scoring a late winner against Cardiff after signing on loan from Chelsea this week.

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy has sent a message to new arrival Cesare Casadei after his dramatic debut goal for the club.

The midfielder officially joined on loan from Chelsea on Tuesday, with City showing interest in the Italian since the start of the transfer window. He was named on the bench for his first game as a City player, but came on as a second half substitute with the score locked at 1-1.

City opened the scoring in the first half with academy graduate Wanya Marcal-Madivadua claiming his own debut goal in spectacular fashion. The winger hit a volley in the top corner after a rebound from a corner.

Cardiff’s equaliser was equally spectacular as veteran midfielder Aaron Ramsey curled a shot past Mads Hermansen just on the stroke of half time. That’s how the score stayed until stoppage time.

Having made his way onto the pitch with 28 minutes to go, Casadei was the first to react to a loose ball in the box as City shouted for a penalty on Vardy in the 92nd minute. The Italian U21 international showed his composure to make no mistake and send the King Power Stadium wild.

It was Vardy’s run in the box that set up the winning goal. After the game, the striker, who was himself a second half substitute, responded to Casadei’s strike.

Posting a picture of the two embracing after the full-time whistle, Vardy wrote on Instagram: “What a way to introduce yourself to the King Power @_cesarecasadei_.” Along with a clapping and blue heart emoji.

Casadei himself has responded to the goal by reposting a clip shared by City on Instagram on his stories along with three fox emojis. The midfielder will now hope to be pushing for a start when City look to make it five wins in a row against Rotherham United next Saturday.
