Adam Forshaw finds new Championship club following Leeds United exit

Adam Forshaw has joined Norwich City on a free after being released by Leeds United at the end of last season

Former Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has signed a deal to join Whites’ Championship rivals Norwich City. Forshaw was released by Leeds at the end of last season after spending five-and-a-half seasons in West Yorkshire.

The 31-year-old has missed pre-season and most of the opening month of the campaign but he will be hoping to make up for lost time after penning a one-year contract with David Wagner’s Canaries, with the option of a further 12 months to follow. Norwich have started the season well and after winning two of their opening three games in the second tier, they currently sit third in the table.

The East Anglia outfit are fancied by many to push for promotion and with top-flight promotions at Middlesbrough and Leeds already on his CV, Forshaw will hope to help give Wagner’s side an extra push towards the top flight.

“I’ve watched the games in the first few weeks and been really impressed, I couldn’t wait to get in and try to be a part of it,” Forshaw told Norwich’s official site after joining the club.
