Unai Emery makes a commitment on the last day of the transfer window to replace star player for Aston Villa.

Unai Emery claims that Philippe Coutinho is on the verge of quitting the club in the most recent Aston Villa news from BirminghamLive.

Unai Emery has said that Aston Villa would make an effort on the last day of the transfer window to bring in a new player as Philippe Coutinho prepares to leave the club.

Villa spent £80 million on four new players this summer, and Clement Lenglet, who Barcelona consented to loan out, is about to become the fifth. Given that Villa has reached an agreement to transfer Coutinho, he might not be the final acquisition made on deadline day.

Al Duhail and Villa this week reached an agreement on the key aspects of Coutinho’s transfer, bringing the deal closer to completion. Prior to signing with the Qatar Stars League team, the Brazilian has already agreed to personal terms.

He first moved to Villa on loan in January 2022 after being courted by his old manager Steven Gerrard. Coutinho had a difficult time reproducing his form from the previous season after a £17 million permanent transfer from Barcelona, despite an outstanding comeback to the Premier League.

Last season, he made 20 appearances for the team, making one goal, although he struggled to find consistency because of injuries and a deficiency in match fitness. This season, Coutinho played in two Premier League games before suffering a hamstring injury in the victory over Everton.

Emery wants to take his position on the deadline day since the 30-year-old is now scheduled to leave Villa Park.

We are always prepared to take action, Emery stated, whether a player joins us or departs from our team. “Philippe Coutinho has the potential to depart, but we will wait and be prepared to make the necessary changes if they arise.

“It’s hard to get anything really, very crucial for strengthening our team on the final day. Although the club worked extremely hard to finalize our squad, I am really pleased with what we now have. Of course, there is still one day to go until we are ready.
