“Classic”: – Newcastle star hails Wolves signing, PL transfers ‘vital’ for country

Newcastle United midfielder Miguel Almiron spoke with the local press after arriving in Paraguay for the international break.

The 29-year-old was asked about his former national team teammates who now play in the Premier League, and he had a few words for Wolverhampton Wanderers’ new addition Enso Gonzalez.

Almiron told La Nacion that he is glad Wolves signed the youngster because it can only help Paraguayan football.

“It’s great for Paraguayan football that players are going to the Premier League, which is such a competitive league with a lot of good players.” That, I believe, is beneficial to all of us. “It is important for Paraguayan football that they have that opportunity abroad,” Miguel Almiron told La Nacion.

In addition to applauding Wolves’ signing, Almiron discussed Newcastle’s start to the season, indicating he is confident in the Magpies’ existing group.
“The truth is that I am extremely happy in Newcastle. We may state that we have a lot of high-level players. And I believe that is beneficial to both the national team and Paraguayan football.”

Paraguay is currently competing in the first two rounds of the South American World Cup Qualifiers. Those are against Peru and Venezuela, and it’s a terrific opportunity for them to earn a good start in the competition, as it’s a tough and balanced tournament to get to the top.

When Almiron returns to Newcastle, he will face Brentford at St. James’ Park on September 16th.

Despite four appearances, the winger has yet to directly add to the Magpies’ goals this season, as he has no goals or assists.
