Wolves favourite could get swift return to management after sacking

Former Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui could be in line for a quick return to management.

Julen Lopetegui, the former manager of Wolves, could be offered a rapid return to management.

Lopetegui has been out of work since leaving his Wolves job ahead of the season due to a disagreement with the club regarding incomings. “On behalf of everyone at the club, I’d like to thank Julen and his staff for their dedication and hard work during their time at the football club,” Wolves boss Matt Hobbs said after the Spaniard’s departure.

“They were hired with the primary goal of keeping the club in the Premier League last season, which they accomplished with games to spare.”

“While our intention had been to enter the new season together, it is public knowledge that there were disagreements on some key issues, and it was agreed by all parties that it would be best to part ways ahead of the new campaign.”

“After a successful pre-season full of hard work and good performances, Julen and his staff leave the squad in great shape ahead of the season opener next week, providing the best possible platform for success for his successor.” We wish Julen and his colleagues the best of luck in the future and assure them that they will always be welcome at Wolves.”

Following an early dismissal in La Liga, Lopetegui might be set to return to charge over a month later. Villarreal fired Quique Setién after losing three of their first four games of the season.

The Yellow Submarine made a number of key sales over the summer, including Pau Torres, Niclolas Jackson, and Samu Chukwueze, and while they made some smart additions with the likes of Alexander Sorloth, Santi Comesana, and Ben Brereton-Diaz, they were unable to adequately replace the players who left.

That has already been demonstrated this season, and Setién has suffered the price less than a year after replacing Unai Emery. Setién led Villarreal to fifth place last season, although the Yellow Submarine were eliminated from the Europa Conference League due to a bad start.
