This is what Wolves must undoubtedly be keeping an eye on over the coming weeks……

After a failed transfer to Wolves, the player has been ‘threatening not to play again’ until January. The club is desperate to settle the situation.

Boulaye Dia, who is now on duty with the Senegal national team, departed Italy upset after Salernitana refused him a loan to Wolverhampton Wanderers on transfer deadline day.

The striker desperately wanted to move to the Premier League but was denied, therefore he was left out of the squad against Lecce, which his club lost 2-0.

On Monday, rumors of a fine surfaced, and Corriere dello Sport reported on Tuesday that the scenario surrounding the Wolves target appeared to be even more catastrophic than previously assumed.

They explain that the Serie A club is currently researching ‘the best feasible approach’ to penalize the player for his actions, and there is talk of a fine of 15% of his monthly pay, which would correspond to almost €30k.

Aside from that, Salernitana are aware that this must be rectified, as the striker remains a ‘technical and financial asset that must be recovered swiftly’, as the team simply isn’t the same without him.

The 2-0 loss to Lecce demonstrated this, and his presence in front of goal was missing, which is why Wolves signed him in the first place.
With him currently halfway around the world, there is hope that he will return from international duty with his mind clear, despite Morgan De Sanctis’ decision to reject down the Wolves offer hurt him hard.

According to Corriere dello Sport, before going to join the Senegal side, he “threatened not to play again” until the market reopens in January.

Something Wolves will surely be watching in the coming weeks.
