JUST NOW: Cambridge United has signed a long-term loan agreement with Crystal Palace’s free agent.

Cambridge United have signed Crystal Palace forward John-Kymani Gordon on loan until January.

The 20-year-old is yet to make a senior appearance for his parent club, but he did make 17 appearances for Carlisle United on loan last season.

He scored twice for the Cumbrians and appeared in their League Two play-off final victory over Stockport at Wembley.

“I just want to get back playing and build on what I did last season,” Gordon told the Cambridge website.

He could make his debut for the U’s against Reading at home on Monday.

“He can play in a variety of positions, like many of our forwards, and his qualities complement us perfectly,” remarked head coach Mark Bonner

“John-Kymani is fit and raring to go having been involved throughout pre-season and the start of the season with the first team at Crystal Palace.
