Valerien Ismael backs Watford to ‘stand up’ to the challenge

The Watford manager is optimistic about the possibilities of his club at Elland Road.

Watford manager Valerien Ismael believes his team can’stand up’ to Leeds United’s talent when they visit Elland Road this afternoon.

The Hornets, like Leeds, have had a mediocre start to the season and are presently 14th in the Championship standings, one point behind Daniel Farke’s men.

Despite this, Watford still have a lot of skill in their ranks, and despite playing one of the favourites for promotion in the Whites, Ismael is optimistic about his team’s chances at Elland Road.

“I’m looking forward to the game, to playing a side who were in the Premier League last season and have big ambitions,” Ismael said on Watford’s official website.

“We are a team that can compete with a team like Leeds; we can perform, and that is what we want to do.” We will give everything we have tomorrow to win the game.”
