BBC NEWS : Tottenham Hotspur coach decision over a young star before the march

Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, has been delivered a devastating blow regarding Ivan Perisic before of Sunday’s Premier League matchup at the Emirates with Arsenal.

The Croatian midfielder, who had started off the bench in each of Spurs’ first five Premier League games of the season, recently suffered an ACL tear in training and might miss the remainder of the campaign as he gets ready for surgery.

Ange Postecoglou says Tottenham's performance against Arsenal will show how far they have come under him - not the result - as he reminds fans that the club are just beginning a

Bryan Gil (groin), Rodrigo Bentancur (knee), Ryan Sessegnon (hamstring), and Alfie Whiteman (ankle) are just a few of the numerous Tottenham players who have undergone surgery already; Giovani Lo Celso is still sidelined with a thigh injury. Perisic will soon join their ranks.

However, the Spurs backline will be unaffected by perisic’s injury as Guglielmo Vicario, Micky van de Ven, and Destiny Udogie all get ready for their North London derby debuts on hostile grounds.

The trio will be joined in the back by Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, and Yves Bissouma as usual. However, against Mikel Arteta’s team, Bissouma may have his work cut out for him.

Pape Sarr and James Maddison, who are also defensive lynchpins, will be expected to step up if extra defensive help is needed, while Dejan Kulusevski, who scored a 100th-minute winner against Sheffield United last weekend, is a lock to start up front alongside Son Heung-min.

Richarlison was benched against the Blades after having a difficult time off the field, but the Brazilian ignited Spurs’ incredible comeback with a goal and an assist in stoppage time, and he should now be preferred to Manor Solomon for a return.

Vicario, Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie, Sarr, Bissouma, Kulusevski, Maddison, Son, and Richarlison are likely starters for Tottenham Hotspur.
