INTERVIEW: Gubbins’s shocking reaction on the defeat to Tranmere Rovers

“It’s a game that we feel we should win as a team, and everyone has come in disappointed.”

“A lot of things haven’t gone our way, obviously the red card, and we’ve gone down to 10 men, which makes the game difficult as we progress.”

“I think in the second half, we put ourselves forward, gave it our all, and had good chances to get back into the game, so there are some positives to take.” We must take the good and move on.

“It’s almost as if the penalty was back to the wall.” I haven’t seen it returned, but I believe it’s harsh; it’s one of those things.


“You’ve got to keep your head up and keep moving.” If we take those chances, perhaps the outcome will be different and we will arrive pleased.

“We have a strong team here. If we lose a player, there are others who can step in and make an effect.

“Those players have to do that, and losing players is obviously disappointing, but it is what it is, and we have to move on.”

“This is only one game; there are 37 games left, so there are plenty of points to be won, and we’ll be ready.” to be bak

“We have a big game against Stockport next week.” We’ll give it our all since we need three points at home.”
