After a heart-to-heart at Finch Farm, Sean Dyche pushed his players to change the “story” of Everton’s season.

The Blues manager stated that the aftermath of the Arsenal defeat was spent addressing matters other than those on the field in order to come to terms with his team’s poor start to the season.

He emp”I said we’re the ones who modify the story, so that’s it. End of. There will be no excuses. You’re all well-rounded enough; you’ve all played in the Premier League and understand how it works. ‘Lads, it is we who change the story,’ I responded. Let’s get this right.’ That was the first thing. Another was the notion of obtaining professional fulfillment.
hasized to the players his conviction that the underlying performances had been mostly positive. And he challenged them to use what they had learned during their careers, particularly through difficult times at Everton, to gain control of the campaign.

When asked about the build-up to the Blues’ first Premier League victory, a 3-1 triumph at Brentford, he said: “We did a bit of work in the week with them, not just training work but a good chat with them.” A few things came out, and it just felt like ‘the Everton tale’… you kind of start going along with it.
