Archie Gray, a midfielder for Leeds United, is a target for Crystal Palace.

According to Alan Nixon, who claimed on his Patreon over the weekend that Palace are long-time supporters of Gray, and his arrival at Leeds has put them on “red alert.”

Gray is reported to be Palace’s ‘live alternative’ to Blackburn Rovers prodigy Adam Wharton, as the Premier League club plans a midfield rebuild that will include the purchase of elite young prospects.

Gray is having a breakthrough season at Elland Road after being relegated to the Championship last season, with Saturday’s 3-0 win over Watford being the first game he hasn’t started under Daniel Farke in any competition.

According to Nixon, if Leeds fails to reclaim their place in the Premier League this season, they may be compelled to sell Gray, with parachute payments reduced from 55% to 45% in the second season following relegation.

Gray Gray, a Palace target who has been hailed as’sensational’ by Neil Redfearn, signed his first professional contract with Leeds earlier this year but was unable to commit to a long-term contract due to his age.

That means he has less than two years left on his current contract, which means top-tier clubs are keeping an eye on him.

However, as soon as Gray turns 18 in March, you can bet Leeds will have a long-term deal in place to guarantee both his future at the club and his worth.

Gray’s boyhood club is Leeds, and if he gets promoted, the Whites will have a good chance of keeping him for several years.

However, as has been witnessed time and again, the longer a team remains in the Championship, the more probable it is that its top young prospects will be taken off.
