Michael Ball feels that, ahead of the entrance of Luton Town in the Premier League, Everton must make Goodison Park an unpleasant place to visit.

The freshly promoted side, still in search of their first point, will travel to Merseyside this week to play Sean Dyche’s side on Saturday, September 30.

The Toffees are currently in 15th place, three points above the dreaded relegation zone.

On September 25, Ball told the Liverpool Echo, “Everyone has been looking at this Luton game as our first win, thankfully it’s not!”

“Hopefully, it’s confidence we can bring back to Goodison Park with back-to-back Premier League victories.” I’ve kept a careful eye on Luton Town; they’ve been partly unlucky since moving to the Premier League, where the standards are greater, but they’ve been unlucky.

“When Goodison Park is bouncing, opponents want to go home.” They will want the referee to sound the whistle because they know they will be against it; we must capitalize on this; Sean Dyche must appropriately line up his team; and this is what we must learn from the Arsenal game.

Because of the hostile attitude created by the crowd, teams used to avoid visiting Goodison Park.

The guys were also ready for a physical battle, which immediately put opposing players on the defensive because they knew they were in for a fight.

Sean Dyche personified that mindset at Turf Moor, and he must do the same at Everton.

The football style will never be pretty, as everyone expected when he signed, but if he gets the results, there won’t be many disagreeing voices.

Points on the board, not beautiful play, will lift Everton out of the relegation zone, and there are no excuses for failing to pick up three points at Goodison Park.

Luton Town are the teams against whom everything must be written in stone, and anything less than a win is a failure.
