Leicester City star shares a heartfelt about what happen to his son

Jonny Evans breaks his silence on Leicester City’s departure after reaching a surprise Manchester United milestone.

Jonny Evans has expressed interest in joining Manchester United after the Foxes were demoted from the Premier League.

Former Leicester City captain Jonny Evans has spoken out for the first time about his departure from the club.

Last season, after finishing 18th in the Premier League, the 35-year-old donned the armband as Leicester were relegated to the Championship. He left soon after, when his contract expired, and everyone was surprised when he signed for Manchester United.

Evans has stated that he “did not have another option” when he received the call from United, despite the fact that a contract offer from City was apparently on the table at the time. That means that either the offer was rescinded or the defender did not see staying at Leicester as a viable option.

“I wasn’t consciously thinking I would sign [for Man Utd, after getting the first call],” he stated to TNT Sports. “At a certain age, you begin to wind down your career.”

“I got the call and didn’t have any other options, so I just took it and did my best in training and took my chances.” Then you just hope your body holds up.

“I never imagined myself coming in and becoming a starter. I was told that my duty would be to provide competition, so I approached it that way. With a few injuries, I was given the opportunity to begin.

“They play differently here than they did at my previous club, so I’ve been trying to adjust my game.” I believe I fit in well tonight and contributed much to the team.”

“I loved every minute of it,” Evans said after making his first start of the season for United against Burnley over the weekend. You get a sense before the game, and I couldn’t wait, it was pure exhilaration. I was buzzing as we approached on the bus.

“That was my 200th game for Manchester United, I never thought I would ever reach that figure – it was one of the best nights of my life.”
