According to FBref, Alcaraz has rated in the top 1% of midfielders in terms of shot-creating actions, xG, total shot, and successful take-ons during the last 12 months.
He’s also highly ranked for critical passes, passes into the area, and progressive passes, demonstrating his ability to make an impact on the ball, with lots of data collected throughout last season’s Premier League campaign.
As a result, it’s not surprising that a team like Newcastle appear to see lots of potential in the 20-year-old, so a move to St James’ Park from St Mary’s might be one to watch in the coming months, and it’ll be intriguing to see if he quickly returns to Martin’s starting XI.
