Twins are prepared to land a powerful Slugger this offseason

It appears that the Twins could land one of the Red Sox’s former sluggers.

When the 2024 season arrives, one former Boston Red Sox player could be playing elsewhere.

Boston signed outfielder Adam Duvall prior to the 2023 season, and he performed admirably in his lone season with the Red Sox. He started out hot and was one of the top hitters in baseball for a while, but a wrist injury forced him to miss time. When he returned, he provided solid defense and aided the Red Sox’s middle lineup.

While Duvall could return to the Red Sox, it is improbable at this time. According to MLB.com’s Mark Feinsand, if he contracts elsewhere, the Minnesota Twins could be a possibility.

“With Joey Gallo likely to depart via free agency and Max Kepler potentially on the trade block, the Twins could use another power bat in the outfield,” Feinsand said in a statement. “Duvall hits lefties and righties well and can play all three outfield spots.”

This summer, Feinsand compiled a list of free agent objectives for each Major League Baseball team, including the Twins. This comes as no surprise. Duvall is one of the better free agents available in the position-player market. Last season, he hit 21 home runs and drove in 58 runs while playing 92 games and providing strong defense. He can play all three outfield positions and has a Gold Glove Award to his name.

He’s a less expensive alternative than, say, Chicago Cubs sensation Cody Bellinger and would undoubtedly benefit any team that chose to sign him.
