Kareem Jackson was suspended by the NFL once more on Monday.

After hitting Minnesota Vikings quarterback Joshua Dobbs during their Sunday game, which the Broncos won for the fourth time in a row, the league announced that the safety for the Denver Broncos would miss four games without getting paid.

The Vikings’ opening drive of the game featured a trick play in which tight end T.J. Hockenson took the snap and then threw it to Dobbs on a third-and-1. Baron Browning of the Broncos attempted to tackle Dobbs from behind, but Jackson moved in quickly, lowered his helmet, and struck the quarterback beneath his chin. During the play, Dobbs mishandled the ball, causing his head to twist and rebound from the blow. The 14-year veteran Jackson was not given a warning.

A player violates Rule 12, Section 2, Article 10 (a) when he lowers his helmet in preparation for a tackle. The league made it clear when announcing Jackson’s suspension that the penalty is determined by the safety’s split second judgment.

“We will not put up with illegal actions that are egregious and endanger the players’ safety,” NFL Vice President of Football Operations Jon Runyan declared in a statement addressed to Jackson. “The League will keep emphasizing the need to follow the regulations, which forbid using your helmet to make violent contact with your opponent. You had room and time to steer clear of such interaction. You had the opportunity, within the rules, to communicate with your opponent, but you declined to do so.

After the Broncos play the Detroit Lions in Week 15, Jackson will be able to rejoin the active roster.

In response to Jackson’s suspension, Justin Simmons, a defensive back for Denver, defended his teammate on social media and claimed the league applied an unfair punishment system.

“This is truly amazing. How are we going to stop a runner from falling forward on a third and 1, when you’re fighting for every yard?” He shared on Twitter’s predecessor, X. “Last season, I had a hit like this against the Baltimore Ravens. Not a warning sign, not a fine. These calls are inconsistent, and it is obvious that some players have ulterior motives and agendas. Many unscrupulous players in our league. None of them are Kareem.”

Denzel Perryman, a linebacker for the Houston Texans, is currently serving a three-game suspension for tackling Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase in a Week 10 victory while leading with his helmet.

Jackson has been suspended by the NFL twice this season for breaking its safety regulations. He was given a four-game suspension by the league following a victory over the Green Bay Packers in Week 7, but this was later lowered to two games following an appeal. In addition, the former star player for the Crimson Tide was fined for an illegal hit and ejected from the Broncos’ Week 2 loss to the Washington Commanders.

He was fined $89,670 for four illegal hits, and he declared he would try to improve his tackling technique during practice prior to the Vikings game. With 51 total tackles this season, Jackson is third on the Denver defense and has already thrown two interceptions.

He declared, “I’m not sure how I play the game going forward.” “Because, as I previously stated, I will continue to find myself in those circumstances two or three times each week. Thus, my personal goal is to simply reduce my aim and avoid reoccurring in the same circumstance.
