Birmingham City academy product sees deal ‘terminated’ after unsuccessful non-league venture
The latest transfer news as former Birmingham City and Solihull Moors defender Mitch Hancox sees his contract terminated at York City.
Birmingham City academy product Mitch Hancox has seen his contract at York City terminated following a mutual agreement, a club statement has confirmed.
The left-back, who joined Birmingham aged eight in 2001 and left in 2016 to join Macclesfield Town, turned out 33 times for Blues. Now aged 30, the defender has played for MK Dons, Solihull Moors, Harrogate Town, Hereford and Hartlepool United since.
Key to York’s promotion from the National League North before becoming a regular in the fifth tier, Hancox was a popular figure at LNER Community Stadium. However, he has fallen down the pecking order and is now set to move on following an unsuccessful loan at Hartlepool.
