confirmed: A Talented young star has signed a three-year contract Sydney Kings

Kouat Noi has signed a three-year contract extension with the Sydney Kings.

The Sydney Kings’ roster consolidation has begun under Brian Goorjian, with the club re-signing championship forward Kouat Noi on a three-year deal. The third season will include a club option.

The former Taipan arrived at the Kings ahead of their title winning NBL23 season under former head coach Chase Buford, and played a crucial role off the bench behind Xavier Cooks in the side’s quest for a back-to-back crown.

He averaged 10 points per game in 25 appearances across Sydney’s NBL24 campaign, in which the Kings suffered Play-In elimination to New Zealand.

“The past two seasons in Sydney have been the best two of my basketball career to date, being able to play in front of all my friends and family along with the best fans in the country,” Noi said. “”It was a no-brainer for me to come back to the Kings.

“The club has put me in the best position to succeed on the court, from the coaching staff, strength and conditioning team and front office, so I’m confident I can take more games to an even higher level over the next few years.”

Noi cited the arrival of Goorjian as a key reason for his re-commitment to the club.

“Goorj’s record speaks for itself and I have no doubt that I will flourish under him as a player,” he said.

“He knows what it takes to win in this league and I have complete faith that he is going to put me and our whole team in the best position to succeed and bring home another championship to Sydney.

“I have high ambitions of where I want to get to in my basketball journey and with this great club and Goorj beside me, I’m confident I’ll be able to achieve them.”

Noi will also be playing alongside fellow King Makuach Maluach for the Darwin Salties in the upcoming NBL1 North campaign.Kouat Noi's top plays of NBL24 season

“I’m taking my work this off-season very seriously,” the 26-year-old said.

“While in Darwin, I’m going to work as hard as I ever have to ensure I come into pre-season in the best shape of my life.

“Kings fans should expect a whole different beast when I return to Sydney for NBL25.”
