Aiyuk shared a photo on his story of himself on a FaceTime chat with the remark, “Brother said we have 6 days and it’s fireworks.”
All Steelers has previously reported that the Steelers may be seeking Aiyuk as a trade option. His agency has attempted to clarify on social media that there is no talk of a deal, and recent claims from Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk suggest the 49ers turned Pittsburgh down the last time they approached them.
Still, the eagerness for something to happen is growing. It’s unclear whether this implies the 49ers will extend Aiyuk’s contract or send him somewhere, but Aiyuk appears to be expecting something.
The Steelers presently have the 20th and 51st picks in the first two rounds of the NFL draft. It’s possible they’ll have to give up one of those selections to get Aiyuk in a trade.
