Jerry Jones, owner of the Dallas Cowboys, gave a press conference before the 2024 NFL Draft, in which the Lone Star team has the 24th pick in the first round.
The Draft will take place this Thursday, April 25, in Detroit, and, in Jones’s words, the Cowboys will try to return to high flying with the reinforcements they can sign, Sports Illustrated reported.
The constant criticism of the Cowboys in the current free agency
Dallas has come under fire for dumping talent like Tyron Smith and Tony Pollard into other teams and not announcing expected contract extensions for quarterback Dak Prescott and receiver CeeDee Lamb.
Loyal and long-suffering Cowboys fans feel their team is being overlooked while the rest of the NFL teams have been moving through free agency, leading to widespread discontent.
After the painful playoff elimination at home against the Green Bay Packers, Jones, primarily responsible for roster moves, tried to defend his strategy days before the Draft.
“We’re very proud of this roster. We feel very, very good about the promise of this roster for this season. We feel very good about who we’ve been in free agency. We’re all in,” Jones said, which has generated endless questions.
