Missouri football transfer portal tracker: which Mizzou players intend to enter transfer portal?

Around the nation, there will be coaching changes, late recruiting drama ahead of December’s early signing day and, yes, the return of the transfer portal for Missouri football.

The NCAA transfer portal opens for college football on Monday, Dec. 4. The fall window lasts until Jan. 2. Players are free to enter the portal anytime after midnight this coming Sunday, and they are free to announce their intentions to transfer any time beforehand.

Since the Missouri Tigers handily defeated Arkansas to close their regular season Friday on the road, multiple Mizzou players have publicly announced that they expect to enter the portal once it opens.

The Columbia Daily Tribune will keep track of the Missouri players in the portal on this page:

Gabarri Johnson, quarterback

Mizzou football freshman quarterback Gabarri Johnson has entered the transfer portal, per a report Friday, Dec. 15, from PowerMizzou.

Johnson, a four-star prospect out of Tacoma, Washington, did not appear for the Tigers in his rookie season. He was the No. 22 quarterback in the Class of 2023, per 247Sports.

Jake Garcia, quarterback

After one season in Columbia, Miami transfer Jake Garcia is hopping back into the portal.

The quarterback spent the 2023 campaign third on Missouri’s depth chart. He did not take a snap through the regular season as Brady Cook started all 12 games and Sam Horn took the reserve duties.

Garcia will have three years of eligibility remaining.

DJ Wesolak, linebacker

Former four-star prospect DJ Wesolak on Thursday announced his intention to enter the transfer portal.

The Boonville, Missouri, product was a major grab for Eli Drinkwitz’s staff on early signing day in the 2022 cycle, but saw limited action in his two years with the Tigers. He did not play in the 2023 campaign, and saw the field in a reserve role in the 2022 season.

Wesolak had a long list of Power Five offers during his recruitment. He opted to stay in state out of high school, but looks set to leave the Tigers with three seasons of eligibility remaining.

Dameon Wilson, linebacker

Wilson announced Wednesday morning that he intends to enter the transfer portal. The sophomore out of Grover, North Carolina, featuring in six games in the 2023 season and recording two tackles.

The linebacker, who has two years of eligibility remaining, struggled for playing time behind Ty’Ron Hopper. Wilson featured in 12 games in 2022 and recorded 16 total tackles and recovered a fumble against Florida.

EJ N’Doma-Ogar, offensive line

N’Doma-Ogar announced Monday via X, formerly known as Twitter, that he intends to transfer, making him the first Missouri player to make his plans public.

The backup offensive lineman spent the 2023 season behind right guard Cam’Ron Johnson on the depth chart. He featured in four games during the Tigers’ 10-2 regular season this year.

N’Doma-Ogar spent two seasons at Missouri but frequently missed playing time due to injuries. He transferred to Missouri from Oklahoma ahead of the 2021 season.

Max Whisner, tight end

Whisner, a Lee’s Summit product, announced Tuesday that he intends to transfer. A former top-15 prospect in the state of Missouri, Whisner appeared just two times for the Tigers over the course of his two seasons in Columbia. His lone outing in 2023 came on special teams against Memphis.
