Chelsea are reportedly prepared to sell up to 10 players before the summer transfer window closes this month

Chelsea are reportedly prepared to sell up to 10 players before the summer transfer window closes this month, but they are not looking to sign Adama Traore from Wolves

Chelsea completed their first signing of the summer on Thursday, but reports suggest they aren’t finished there.

The Blues smashed their club-record transfer fee to bring Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge this week, forking out £97.5million on the Belgian striker.

Thomas Tuchel was desperate to add a new centre-forward to his ranks this summer, and it is believed he still wants to strengthen further before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

There are still likely to be plenty of incomings and outgoings in west London, so we’re on hand with the latest Chelsea transfer news below.

10 stars up for sale

While they are said to be eyeing further reinforcements, The Athletic claim Chelsea officials also want to move 10 players on before the window closes.

Fringe players Ross Barkley, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Davide Zappacosta, Michy Batshuayi, Kenedy, Danny Drinkwater, Tiemoue Bakayoko and Baba Rahman are all expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks.

There are also doubts over Tammy Abraham and Kurt Zouma’s future at the club, with the latter attracting interest from Roma and Arsenal.

Traore stance

Chelsea have been linked with a shock move for Wolves ace Adama Traore, who could provide competition for Reece James at right wing-back.

But according to The Athletic, Blues chiefs are not preparing a bid for the 25-year-old this summer because Tuchel is already satisfied with his options out wide.

Traore, who only registered two goals and three assists for Wolves last season, has previously been tipped to join Liverpool, Man Utd and Man City.

Tammy update

Tuchel refused to rule out a potential departure for Abraham ahead of Chelsea’s opening Premier League fixture against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Roma have reportedly seen a £34million bid accepted for the 23-year-old striker, while Arsenal are also understood to be interested.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference on Friday, Tuchel said when asked about Abraham’s future: “There are always possibilities that players leave us, especially in the same position.

“The situation for Tammy is clear, it has been discussed. At the moment there is no news. We have a good relationship, he is in the squad for tomorrow.”
