Newcastle United are considering loan moves for two Chelsea players

According to the Express, Newcastle United are considering loan moves for two Chelsea players – Malang Sarr and Ethan Ampadu.

The Magpies are yet to sign anyone on loan this summer, meaning they can still complete two temporary deals from Premier League clubs.

However, they won’t be able to sign both Sarr and Ampadu. Premier League rules state clubs can only sign one player on loan from each club.

They aren’t the first Chelsea players Newcastle have been linked with this summer.

The Northern Echo claimed back in May that the Magpies were keen on loan moves for either Billy Gilmour or Tammy Abraham if they were available.

Turns out they were available, but not for Newcastle. Gilmour is now at Norwich on loan, while Abraham seems set to join Roma permanently.

Newcastle targets will reportedly be allowed to leave Chelsea on loan

According to the Express, Thomas Tuchel’s side will allow Sarr and Ampadu to leave on loan.

Chelsea have one of the best squad’s in the Premier League right now, and need to focus on moving some players out of the club.

This could benefit Newcastle, whose quest for a defender has taken them to Stamford Bridge.

Sarr joined Chelsea in 2020 but is yet to make his Premier League debut after spending last season at Porto, who made it to the Champions League quarter finals.

As for Ampadu, he has got Premier League experience. Sadly, he was part of the Sheffield United team that was relegated last season.

Based on Sunday’s defeat to West Ham, Newcastle clearly need fresh legs at the back. A move for either Sarr or Ampadu on loan would be most welcome.
