Fabrizio Romano was left amazed by Erling Haaland’s performance for Manchester City last night in the UEFA Champions League, with the striker bagging a brace in a 4-0 win against Sevilla.

Taking to Twitter, the Italian transfer guru lauded the 22-year-old attacker after Haaland added to his ever-growing goal tally for City, with the forward now on 12 goals in all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side despite playing just seven games for the reigning Premier League champions.

Arriving from Borussia Dortmund this summer for a reported €60m (£51m), Haaland has taken the Premier League by storm since signing for the Manchester giants, and the attacker’s incredible form in the Champions League has lasted his young career has seemingly continued into his new club City.

Haaland already has 25 goals in Europe’s premier competition, more than the likes of Frank Lampard and Harry Kane, and there’s a good case to be made that the striker could one day become the all-time goalscorer in the Champions League, a record currently held by Cristiano Ronaldo with 140 goals.

Indeed, Haaland’s form in the Champions League is frightening, to say the least, and Romano is right to be left speechless by the striker’s latest display in Europe for his new team, with City finally having a player who could help lead them to the grandest prize in European club football.

Haaland bagging a brace on his Champions League debut for City is hardly a surprise, with the striker making the competition his prime focus and the arena where he delivers where it matters most, and for the Manchester side, the forward is only getting started.

With 12 goals in just seven games for City, Guardiola could finally have the final piece of the puzzle to win the Champions League, and should Haaland stay fit, the striker could break numerous European and domestic records for the years to come in Manchester.
