Chelsea, Manchester City, and Real Madrid have all expressed interest in the in-demand defender.

Josko Gvardiol admits Liverpool is his “dream” club ahead of what is expected to be a transformative summer for the RB Leipzig defender.

The Croatian was one of the stars of the World Cup in Qatar, shining an even brighter spotlight on one of Europe’s most promising young center-backs.

Standard Sport understands both Chelsea and Manchester City are among the clubs keen on the 20-year-old, with something of a bidding war expected this summer.

Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are also believed to be in the race.

While Liverpool’s midfield problems have led to calls for a rebuild in that area of the team, it would be foolish to suggest a club of that stature would not hold at least some interest in Guardiola.

Virgil van Dijk and Joel Matip are both over 30, while Joe Gomez has struggled for consistency for some now, and a refresh may be in order.

In an interview with RTLDanas, Gvardiol stated that his dream club is Liverpool.

“I’ve been watching their matches with my dad since I was a kid.

“We went over each season in depth. It is a club that has stayed with me “.
