Manchester United confirm Casemiro’s decision ahead of the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United.

Casemiro will be available for Manchester United’s Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United.

Manchester United have decided not to appeal Casemiro’s red card, so he will be available for the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United.

During Saturday’s 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, the Brazilian was sent off for grabbing Will Hughes around the neck after a scuffle between both sets of players.

Erik ten Hag revealed over the weekend that Manchester United considered appealing Casemiro’s dismissal, but it proved too risky. If the FA disciplinary panel dismissed the appeal case as ‘frivolous,’ an additional game is added to the suspension.

“Think about it,” Ten Hag said. It wasn’t the right decision for me, but I don’t believe we have a chance in the legal process [of the appeal].”

Bruno Guimaraes, Casemiro’s countryman, will also compete in the final.

The Newcastle midfielder serves the final two games of his three-match suspension against Bournemouth and Liverpool before Eddie Howe’s side competes in their first domestic final in 24 years.
