Cascarino requests that Tottenham explain to him why a player will be

Tottenham Hotspur should get rid of Eric Dier, according to Tony Cascarino of The Times.

Dier, according to the former Chelsea player, is not good enough to play for Tottenham.

The talkSPORT pundit made the remarks about the £92,000-a-week (SalarySport) England international central defender, who can also play as a midfielder, following Spurs’ Premier League defeat to Leicester City at the weekend.

TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR HAS BEEN TOLD TO DITCH DIER, ERIC
“Can someone explain to me how so many successive Tottenham managers have fallen in love with Eric Dier?” Cascarino wrote.

“He is an honest, decent player who could be OK for a mid-ranking Premier League team, but he cannot be a main center-half for a team competing for the Champions League.

“He has a bad habit of standing off forwards as they advance toward the goal. He did it again against Leicester on Saturday. The Spurs’ defense needs to be rebuilt, but not around Dier.”

WHICH ACTION SHOULD THE SPURS TAKE?
Tottenham Hotspur, in our opinion, should not simply let Eric Dier leave at the end of the season.
We believe the 29-year-old is good enough to play for the Spurs.

Yes, Dier is not considered an ‘elite’ defender.

Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Manchester City are not interested in signing the Englishman.

Tottenham, on the other hand, is not an ‘elite’ team.

And Dier is perfect for them.

Tottenham cannot attract world-class defenders if they do not compete in the Premier League or the UEFA Champions League.

The fact that successive Tottenham managers, including Antonio Conte, have used Dier and made him an important member of their team demonstrates how highly he is regarded at Spurs.
