Outstanding’: Leicester’s £20 million star, who Tottenham reportedly wants, is now regarded as one of the best.

Following Leicester City’s victory over Tottenham Hotspur, manager Brendan Rodgers stated that James Maddison is one of the league’s best players.

Rodgers was speaking to the Daily Mail after Leicester City thrashed Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend.

Tottenham was terrible on Saturday, following their best performance of the season against Manchester City.

Despite taking the lead through Rodrigo Bentancur, the Spurs struggled for much of the game.

The spurs’ defense was shocking, with Maddison and co. running wild against Antonio Conte’s side.

Kelechi Iheanacho outplayed Eric Dier on several occasions, and James Maddison was given free rein in possession.

Leicester’s second goal was scored by the 26-year-old, who also set up Harvey Barnes’ late effort.

Tottenham is interested in Maddison, who has been linked with a number of moves away from Leicester.

The £20 million-rated playmaker would be an excellent addition to north London right now.

Rodgers has heaped praise on Maddison, who was appointed captain against Tottenham.

If the Spurs act on their interest, they may be able to keep Maddison from tormenting them again next summer. After Tottenham’s performance, Rodgers was full of praise for Maddison.
“He was outstanding as captain,” Rodgers said after the game.”He’s one of the best players in the league and he has grown as a leader.”He didn’t train much last week because he was dealing with an issue, but he’s a fantastic player.”

Tottenham Hotspur prepare to face AC Milan in the Champions League tomorrow, despite an injury crisis.

Bentancur will be out for the rest of the season due to a serious knee injury, and Yves Bissouma is also out.

Conte is also without Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, leaving him severely lacking in midfield options.

Following Rodgers’ recommendation, Tottenham could use a player like Maddison for the game.

Although he is not as defensive as Tottenham’s other options, he has the ability to unlock defenses from central areas in a way that no other Spurs player can.

Tottenham is big fan of Maddison, according to Cristian Stellini.

It remains to be seen whether Leicester will be willing to let him go next summer.

If he becomes available, Spurs are likely to face stiff competition from other Premier League clubs.
