Newcastle has made contact with the club regarding a  move  for another

Newcastle has made contact with the club about a summer move for another exciting Brazilian.

Newcastle has enquired about a possible summer move for Athletico Paranaense star Vitor Roque, according to GOAL.

According to the report, Barcelona is also interested in the 17-year-old sensation, with Arsenal, Chelsea, and PSG also keeping tabs on the versatile forward who can play up top or out wide.

Not only has Roque scored seven goals and provided three assists in his first full season in Série A, but he has also recently helped his country win the South American Sub-20 Championship, scoring six goals in eight appearances.

Barcelona is thought to be the frontrunner to sign the South American this summer, but he appears to be the latest Brazilian on our radar after a slew of January bids for Flamengo’s Matheus Franca was turned down.

In terms of recent interest, the player’s agent, Andre Cury, confirmed in January that an offer of around 25 million euros was ‘immediately rejected’ following interest from clubs in England, Spain, and Italy:

“We’ve already had offers, but they were turned down. There was an English, a Spanish, and an Italian club. We received an offer of around 25 million euros. We immediately rejected it because I believe the player is worth more than that.

“The time (to leave) is when the right club arrives. One that has a great project, reaches the price tag, and everyone walks away satisfied from this negotiation.

“(Roque) possesses all of the physical, mental, and technical attributes required to play for a major European club. The big ‘number nines’ in Europe are getting older, such as Benzema, Cavani, and Lewandowski. They will bridge that chasm for these players.

Vitor Roque is going to have a great future in Europe. Mainly because of his hard work and strong mentality.”
