Leeds star has been ruled out of the season due to injury

We’re delighted to welcome injury expert Dr. Rajpal Brar as our exclusive columnist. Each week he’ll be giving his views on the injury situation at Leeds United...

Leeds United attacker Luis Sinisterra has been ruled out for the rest of the season due to ligament damage to his ankle, claims Dr. Rajpal Brar.

The injury expert believes that such injuries can require surgery as well, but he’s not heard anything definitive as to whether or not the Colombian’s situation will need it.

It’s also premature to make any assessments about whether or not he’ll be back in time for pre-season but is not going to be back in May.

Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, Brar, a specialist in Physical Therapy and Sports Scientist, said on Sinisterra,

Based on comments from Javi Gracia, Sinisterra has suffered ligament damage to his ankle.

He may still require surgery but I haven’t heard anything on that front.

His timeline would depend on that plan of care so it’s hard to say if it will impact his pre-season or not.

The 23-year-old has had an injury-ravaged first season at Elland Road and has struggled to make an impact for the first team.

He has been a goal threat whenever he’s on the pitch and has chipped in with five goals from 13 Premier League starts, making six more appearances off the bench.

His last goal actually came in his last appearance as he found the back of the net in the 1-1 draw against Leicester on 25 April.

In other Leeds United news, an exit-bound senior player was spotted in tears after what happened recently.

Pep Guardiola gave major Manchester City injury worry amid Arsenal Premier League title battle

Pep Guardiola has been given a fresh Manchester City injury concern amid their Premier League title battle with Arsenal

Manchester City has suffered a potentially major injury blow with Nathan Ake subbed off early into the second half of the Premier League clash against Leeds. The defender had only just returned from a hamstring injury that came in the Champions League clash with Bayern Munich, but a setback looks to have occurred, with Ake on his haunches holding the same muscle on Saturday afternoon.

In the midweek win over West Ham, Ake made his return from injury and scored a crucial goal for his side at the Etihad Stadium. The 28-year-old was then handed another start against Leeds but he did not last beyond the hour mark as he was spotted clutching his hamstring before coming off.

Kyle Walker was his replacement, with Ake heading straight down the tunnel to receive further treatment. Thankfully, City were already two goals in front courtesy of a quick-fire brace from Ilkay Gundogan.

Later on in the second period, Gundogan was handed the ball by Erling Haaland to take a penalty but the German struck the post with his effort to deny him a hat-trick. Rodrigo then immediately went up the other end and scored for Leeds, giving City a real worry for the final 10 minutes.

However, the league leaders were able to see out a victory with the three points taking them four above Arsenal in the table before Mikel Arteta’s side faces Newcastle on Sunday.

Despite the triumph, Guardiola will be worried about the extent of Ake’s injury. The city must still battle for the FA Cup and the Champions League alongside their title battle with Arsenal, which means having a full squad available is incredibly important.

The Dutchman, as a left-footed defender, is also crucial to Guardiola’s free-flowing system, but City were able to cope without him earlier in the campaign. There is no guarantee any prolonged absence will impact City, but there is sure to be some concern, despite the options available in defense.
