Tottenham star says “the club has a responsibility” to keep hold of talented star

Tottenham Hotspur’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg says “the club has a responsibility” to keep hold of Harry Kane

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg knows the importance of Harry Kane. In fact, he has urged the club to do what they can to keep hold of him.

The England international is set to enter the final year of his contract in July and has been linked with a move to Manchester United. The 29-year-old hasn’t won a single-team trophy in his football career.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he was to feel that a move away from Tottenham would offer him a chance to add something to his cabinet. But Hojbjerg has urged Spurs to prevent Kane from leaving.

“Harry is one of those players who will be in the [record] books, in the history for a very long time.It is important also for Harry to understand he has a big responsibility and also I think the club has a responsibility to make sure the scenario for him is the best possible

Kane seems to be breaking a new record with every single goal he scores now. His goal in our 1-0 league win against Crystal Palace took him above Wayne Rooney (208) to second in the list of Premier League’s all-time top scorers.

Hojbjerg’s comments make full sense here. Spurs have to make sure they sign world-class players that convey their intention of winning silverware.

On top of that, the new manager would surely be key. It will be a big indicator of where Daniel Levy sees the club going in the near future and how quickly he plans for us to be title contenders.

More than anything, Harry Kane will have the final say. If he doesn’t want to renew his contract at Spurs, for whatever reason, then we will be faced with Sophie’s choice – to sell him for something this summer or keep him for another season.
