Tottenham confirm Lucas Moura will leave club this summer

The former Paris Saint-Germain attacker has enjoyed a five-and-a-half-year spell in North London since leaving the French giants in 2018 and has made 219 appearances for the club in all tournaments.

Lucas has scored 38 goals and provided 27 assists in that time, including a sensational hat-trick in the second leg of Spurs’ Champions League semi-final with Ajax in 2019.

However, a troubled 2022-23 campaign has seen Lucas fail to register a goal or assist in 17 matches, playing just 116 minutes of Premier League football off the bench and seeing red shortly after coming on in April’s loss to Everton.

With Dejan KulusevskiRicharlisonHarry KaneSon Heung-min and Arnaut Danjuma all ahead of him in the attacking pecking order, Lucas will be seeking pastures new upon the conclusion of the campaign.

“We can confirm that Lucas Moura is to leave the Club at the end of the season following the conclusion of his contract. We should like to thank Lucas for his tremendous service to our Club and wish him the very best for the future,” Tottenham said in a statement.

Lucas is expected to be on the bench for Spurs’ final home game of the season against Brentford on Saturday before Ryan Mason‘s side end the season away to Leeds United.
