Crystal Palace is keen to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Manchester United this summer with West Ham also interested.

According to The Athletic, the South Londoners hope to bring their academy graduate back to Selhurst Park as they aim to revamp the right-back department.

It comes after the Daily Mail claimed that West Ham are also keen to sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka at the end of the season.

What’s the story?

Well, the £100,000-a-week man has enjoyed a resurgence under Erik ten Hag this season, making 32 appearances in all competitions.

However, the Dutchman would still prefer to sign a right-back of his own who fits the footballing philosophy currently on show at Old Trafford, with Fabrizio Romano claiming that Jeremie Frimpong is wanted.

If a deal for the Netherlands international materialises with Bayer Leverkusen, it would seem that the Red Devils are happy to cash in on Wan-Bissaka.

The Englishman left Crystal Palace for Manchester United in a £50m deal back in July 2019, after developing into one of the best right-backs in the Premier League at Selhurst Park.

West Ham may struggle to fend off Crystal Palace

While the east Londoners could offer Wan-Bissaka the chance to play in the UEFA Europa League next season if they win the UEFA Conference League final next month, a deal for Wan-Bissaka may still be tough.

The 25-year-old has previously admitted to supporting Crystal Palace, and after a difficult time at Manchester United, he may feel the desire to return to familiar surroundings, where he knows he can thrive.

Wan-Bissaka will also know that he’ll most likely be in the starting XI every week at Crystal Palace, as Joel Ward and Nathaniel Clyne are past their best aged 33 and 32 respectively.

At West Ham, he would need to prove himself all over again in front of supporters who have never watched him at his best.

Be sure to keep an eye on this situation, as Wan-Bissaka’s future is likely to depend on whether Frimpong joins Manchester United.
