Besiktas prepare a £41k p/w plus bonuses offer for Yerry Mina with Everton’s exit on the cards

Besiktas are preparing an offer worth £41,000 per week plus bonuses to tempt out-of-contract Everton ace Yerry Mina to Turkey, according to Fanatik (26 May).

The Toffees defender is set to leave the club when his contract expires at the end of the season, having failed to agree new terms on his current deal at Goodison Park.

But according to Fanatik, his wage demands are also too high for Besiktas currently despite previously making “serious progress” on a deal, but they are planning on offering him a contract with bonuses to try and convince him to sign.

“However, the Colombian football player’s contract negotiations with his team [Everton] were negative,” they wrote.

“The 28-year-old defender, who earns 4.1 million euros a year, could not agree on a wage and will most likely leave at the end of the season.

“However, it does not seem possible for the Black and White team to meet the said fee. When that happens Besiktas will draw up a contract with bonuses and contact Mina.

“According to the latest news, the number that Beşiktaş will offer to Mina in line with the contract prepared has been determined. It is expected that Black Eagle will offer the experienced football player a fee of 2.5 million Euros (£2.1m).”

 

Expensive

Mina has been very expensive since joining the club with his heavy wages and huge injury problems, but when he has played he’s always been largely good.

His late goal against Wolves last week means that the club’s destiny is in our own hands this weekend, and the likelihood is that his final game for Everton will come this weekend against Bournemouth.

If he can help us to a victory then we will be a Premier League side and there is always a possibility that we come to an agreement on a new deal because he is clearly a Premier League-caliber player.

However, money is clearly a big factor and if Besiktas are to make a convincing offer then he would be moving to a club that is consistently challenging for trophies and playing in Europe.

Fans will wish him well and thank him for his contributions, but the wages saved will be a big help in a summer window that is sure to be busy and where we have to get everything right.
