The latest Leicester City news as the pundit has had his say on both the game where City takes on West Ham and Everton’s clash against Bournemouth which takes place at the same time

It all comes down to this for Leicester City as they have one last chance to give themselves a chance of Premier League survival on the final day of the season.

City host West Ham knowing that nothing but a win will do, should they get that then eyes will turn to Goodison Park. A City win coupled with Everton dropping points against Bournemouth would see Dean Smith’s side leapfrog the Toffees and stay in the Premier League.

City takes on a Hammers side that is in Europa Conference League action 10 days after the meeting, with the opponents possibly having one eye on that game having sealed their safety last week.

But, it’s not something that Lawrenson is expecting to have a big impact on the game, given the break between the two matches.

“West Ham could actually go to 43 points with a win which, after all the ‘David Moyes out’ and European final, isn’t too bad,” he told Paddy Power. “The pressure is on Leicester to win, nothing else will do.

“West Ham has a couple of weeks until the Europa Conference League final so I think Moysey will go strong and he’ll say to them, ‘You’re playing for your place in the final’. I think this might be a draw.”

Mark Lawrenson’s prediction: Leicester 1-1 West Ham.

If Lawrenson is right, it would mean whatever the score in the game between Everton and Bournemouth, City would be relegated. The pundit does however think that the Toffees will come out as winners over the Cherries 2-1 which would mean City would be relegated whatever the result at the King Power Stadium.

“Bournemouth, let’s pat them on the back and say they’ve done fab. Everybody thought that they would possibly be the worst team in the league but they’ve been excellent,” he added about the Everton game.

“Everton has been here before, and I don’t just mean the current lot. They’ve needed a last-day win before and they’re at home. I know there are one or two players missing but I’m going to go for them to win and stay up.”
