The 2023/2024 Championship campaign gets underway in two months
The new Championship season is just around the corner, and after another drama-filled campaign, fans are wondering who their team will come up against on the opening day.
The English Football League will get underway on the weekend of August 4-6 and the season opener will be televised on Friday, August 4.
Cardiff City and Swansea City supporters will be awaiting the new fixtures list with anticipation.
The full schedule of Championship fixtures will be released on Thursday, June 22, at 9 am. Dates for all of the fixtures will be released at that time, as well as the schedule for League One and League Two.
The Championship will be joined by six new teams, three relegated from the Premier League and three promoted from League One.
Leicester City, Southampton, and Leeds United drop down from the elite division. Plymouth Argyle, Ipswich Town, and Sheffield Wednesday are promoted from the league below.
Last year’s title was won by Manchester City legend Vincent Kompany with Burnley. Sheffield United also secured automatic promotion, finishing second. Luton Town won the play-off final and will be the third new arrival to the Premier League.
