Nottingham Forest now ready to let 25-year-old join Leeds United

Nottingham Forest striker Emmanuel Dennis will be allowed to leave the City Ground this summer, with Leeds wanting to sign him. The Reds talisman hasn’t really settled at Forest and his days look numbered.

Now, according to Football Insider, the club are ready to let him go. Leeds look to be at the front of the queue, although it was claimed last week that MLS clubs might be interested.

The Whites are facing a maiden season back in the Championship. They were relegated last season and didn’t win a competitive game after beating Forest back in April with eight games still to play.

Now, the could be about to sign a player who played his part for Forest during that 2-1 win for Leeds. It was Dennis who assisted Forest midfielder Orel Mangala to open the scoring at Elland Road.

It’s not clear at this stage what sort of fee will be accepted by Forest. The club paid around £20 million to secure his services and he scored just twice for the Reds during the 2022/23 campaign.

Dennis tried his best when he was called upon by Steve Cooper. Ultimately, however, the player simply didn’t really fit into the head coach’s system and he was never considered the first choice.

This could prove a pretty good piece of business for Leeds if they can get a deal over the line. Dennis is more than good enough for the second tier and he should get far more game time.

In his first season in English football, Dennis starred for Watford. He scored 10 goals for the club and also registered six assists, suggesting he can definitely cut it in the Premier League.

His Forest move quite simply hasn’t worked out at all. With that in mind, if the Reds can get Dennis off the books this summer, it would certainly represent a decent situation for all parties.
