Leicester City have secured the signing of former Bristol City midfielder Aimee Palmer after she helped the Robins to promotion last season

Leicester City Women have confirmed the signing of former Bristol City midfielder Aimee Palmer on a one-year deal.

Palmer, 23, was part of the Robins squad to secure promotion back into the Women’s Super League last season in what was her second spell with the club. She left Bristol City to join Manchester United in 2018 but returned in 2020.

Since rejoining Bristol City, she’s made over 50 appearances for the club across all competitions and played an integral role in their Championship-winning campaign. She will now join up with Willie Kirk’s Leicester City side ahead of the new season.

Speaking to LCFC.com, Palmer said: “I am delighted to have got the move over the line. My ambitions match those of the Club so it’s great to finally be here.

“I’ve been around the group for a few days now and the culture fits with me very well. I’m excited to put the shirt on for the first time and get going.”

She joins the Foxes as their fourth signing of the summer, as the club have already completed permanent deals for Janina Leitzig and Courtney Nevin, who spent the second half of last season on loan with the club. They’ve also signed attacking duo Janice Cayman and Lena Petermann.

Kirk’s side will begin their 2023/24 campaign on Sunday, October 1 with an away trip to Palmer’s former club Bristol City. Their first home game at the King Power will be against Everton a week later.
