Leeds United boss Daniel Farke lauded winger Crysencio Summerville after he came off the bench and starred in the 0-0 draw with Hull City.

The Whites will know they could, and perhaps should, have won their second game in a row after important chances in the first half.

However, considering the circumstances surrounding Joe Rodon’s second yellow card in the second half, a 0-0 draw is a win for Leeds.

How did Crysencio Summerville perform?

Crysencio Summerville came off the bench following a tense encounter against Millwall on Sunday, but was called into action earlier than planned when Willy Gnonto was forced off due to injury.

The Dutchman, on the other hand, was raring to go, creating chance after chance for himself and his teammates in the first half.

He forced Ryan Allsop into several excellent saves while also playing through Georginio Rutter 1v1, only for the striker to falter as he shot, leaving him unable to convert.

Summerville was a continuous menace throughout the game, even when Leeds was down a man, as his ball carrying resulted in three yellow cards for Hull players due to professional fouls.

Farke lavishes admiration on the lad

His work ethic has earned him high praise from manager Farke after coming in off the bench, considering that his talent would see him start at every team in the division, as well as a few top-flight teams.

Farke said this (via Leeds Live) regarding his response to being on the bench:

“Yes, 100%.

“Because this is precisely what we need to consider the side.

“Don’t be upset if you’re not always in the starting lineup; it’s more important that when you’re on the field, you give everything for this group.”

“We also got the feeling Cree it was a really good performance at Millwall but he had a difficult pre-season also came back from injury then he had a knock against a shoulder so a few problems so we got the feeling so it makes sense, three games within six days, I also need his creativity in the next home game to start him from the bench and to bring him in when the game is a bit more settled.”

“I had to bring him in earlier than I wanted because of his reaction, not just in possession because he is an outstanding creative player, which we all know, but also how hard he worked for the team.”

“This is exactly what we need, and kudos to him.”

Summerville was a class above last night, and he should be playing in every game where he’s at his best.

What we also witnessed from him is that he is clearly better off playing in a wide position rather than as the team’s number ten.

His connection with Joel Piroe and Rutter was amazing, and he’ll scare the living daylights out of any club in this league.

He was unlucky not to score, with Allsop in fine form for the Tigers, but the winger’s goals and assists will come shortly.
