Sheffield United’s Paul Heckingbottom regrets that he want to correct against Newcastle United.
On Sunday, the Blades will host Eddie Howe’s men at Bramall Lane, still hunting for their first Premier League victory.
Paul Heckingbottom is eager for his team to capitalize on their home advantage against Newcastle United on Sunday, as they look for their first win of the season. Following up on last week’s trip to high-flying Tottenham, the Champions League outfit will present another major challenge.

It’s also the Blades’ fourth home game in six Premier League games, and before a ball was kicked, the Blades boss had underlined that as an opportunity he wanted to take advantage of.

However, due to injury and fitness troubles, as well as late arrivals in the transfer window, Sheffield United have struggled to make the most of their fixture list thus far.
They have only one point from their three home games, although they could have had more. The Blades manager was obliged to field a patched-up side against Crystal Palace on the opening day, but only a defensive blunder kept them from earning a draw against champions Manchester City. Last time out, Jordan Pickford’s late stop denied them all three points, and optimism is growing that the elusive first win is just around the horizon.

Heckingbottom is eager for that to happen on Sunday, admitting that the results at Bramall Lane this season have been a source of great irritation. “I said it before the season, but it hasn’t worked out,” he said. This is our fourth home game in the first six games of the season, and we haven’t felt like we’ve been in a position to capitalize on that.

“We enjoy playing at Bramall Lane because we enjoy interacting with the fans and ensuring that the atmosphere is exactly how we want it.” We prefer to act in a way that energizes the audience and then feed off of that energy. We thought we weren’t in a position to capitalize, but we’re getting closer.

“The window has closed, we know what we have, and we have had a productive week at work.” It makes no difference who is in front of us; what matters is how we perform. We’ve prepared to play against Newcastle, but now that we’re back home after another week of work, we’re looking forward to the game.”
