Gary O’Neil discusses why Wolves’ guy was so good versus City.
Wolves defeated Manchester City at Molineux on Saturday for their second win of the season.

With Pep Guardiola in the stands, Gary O’Neill took charge as his Wolves side took a 1-0 lead when Ruben Dias headed home Pedro Neto’s wonderful cross.

City subsequently equalized through Julian Alvarez, but it wasn’t enough to put the Wolves away, as the Molineux side responded with a second goal.
Hee-Chan Hwang took full advantage of some defensive disarray after Neto crossed it in yet again.

O’Neil was full of praise for his winger in his post-match press conference, which Nathan Judah covered.

“Neto has been incredible,” the manager added before going on to describe why he was so good: “his energy, his work-rate, his intelligence.”

Neto was a constant menace down the right flank, terrorizing Nathan Ake on numerous occasions, with Michael Dawson claiming that the Dutchman’struggled’.

He was unlucky not to add to his assist count in this one, but his stock has grown as a result of his performance.

Wolves must now press forward.
Wolves’ confidence will be sky high after defeating the world’s top team.

This means they will fancy their chances against any club that comes to Molineux to play them.

Starting with Aston Villa next Sunday, a game that earlier appeared daunting now appears winnable.

A big victory at a critical juncture in O’Neil’s career; long may it continue.
