NEWS UPDATE: Fabrizio Romano drops fresh West Ham United update amid David Moyes sack decision

West Ham are not looking for a replacement for David Moyes at the moment, even though they have no intention of negotiating a new deal with the manager at the end of this season.

Moyes is in the final year of his contract and has led the club to their best start to a season since 2015/16, having also lifted the European trophy in his final season.

However, West Ham are not looking to negotiate a new deal with him at the moment, with the intention of doing so in the near future, and Romano said he is unaware of anyone being targeted to replace him at the moment.

I don’t believe any names have been discussed as a potential successor to David Moyes, even though there have been no contract talks, and I don’t think it’s normal to have a replacement in place nine months before the end of the season, either. The Hammers are taking things step by step, one month at a time, and they’re not in a hurry.

Moyes has been doing a fantastic job so far, but it’s clear that the club is evolving. The new director, Tim Steidton, has been in charge since the summer and he’s doing a fantastic job, but it will take some time to get ready for next season.

It may sound harsh, but in our opinion, the club have handled this in a very reasonable and respectful manner.

As we all know, there were disagreements between manager Moyes and sporting director Steidten over the club’s strategy and transfer targets over the summer, and this is something that will need to be addressed in the future.

There were also doubts about Moyes’ future at the back end of last season, before winning the Europa Conference League, and we’d be remiss to overlook that just because we’re off to a great start this time round.

We need to have conversations and there’s no doubt that he could stay and keep winning here, but he might also want to have a say in it and try something different.

We’re keeping our options open but we’re not being rude about it, and as long as everyone’s on the same page, there’s no reason for it to go wrong.
