Ezra Mam takes a big decision about his future: “That’s my goal, to stay here at the Broncos in 2023.” Ezra Mam, the Dally M Five-Eighth of the Year, has stated his desire to stay with the Brisbane Broncos when his contract expires at the conclusion of next season.

The five-eighth who scored a hat-trick in the Broncos’ Grand Final loss to the Penrith Panthers, becoming the sixth player in rugby league history to score three tries in a Grand Final, has broken his silence on his rugby league future.

According to The Courier Mail, the Brisbane Broncos have offered Ezra Mam’s management a new deal after the five-eighth stated his desire to continue playing in the NRL.

Mam will be eligible to negotiate with rival clubs beginning November 1, despite only being committed until the end of the 2024 season.

“That’s my aim, to stay here at the Broncos,” Mam told The Courier Mail.

“I want to raise a new generation here.” It (signing a new contract) would undoubtedly be a fantastic opportunity to join the rest of the boys in making the Broncos great again.

“Seeing Payne resign and all the other boys stay is a huge factor for me.”

“Hopefully, we’ll be able to close that (new) deal soon.” “I’ll be around for a long time.”

The two parties are currently negotiating, but the club would prefer him to sign a long-term contract extension.

The agreement will most likely be for three to five years, which means he will be at Red Hill until at least the conclusion of the 2027 season, if not longer.

“I love the Broncos because of the culture and professionalism of the club,” Mam, who has played 38 NRL games, explained.

“We have a great bond here, and it’s critical that we keep this team together.”

“Keeping that bond means a lot to me and I want to be part of keeping the bond here for a long time.”

n an estimated $250,000 per year, Mam is set to earn a significant wage boost as the club looks to retain one of the stars of the future.
