Sarcevic scores as Stockport smash club records with a win over Tranmere Rovers.
Table-topping Stockport County defeated 10-man Tranmere Rovers 2-0 in Sky Bet League Two.
Dave Challinor’s men won their 10th straight league game and 11th in a row overall thanks to goals from Isaac Olaofe and Antoni Sarcevic.
The hosts got off to a flying start at Edgeley Park, which was packed.
Olaofe scored his 12th goal of the season after Odin Bailey sent a brilliant through ball into his path.
Stockport were in command when Kyle Wootton headed over, but the huge striker was stopped by goalkeeper Luke McGee’s excellent save.
After the restart, Rovers lost Harvey Saunders to a second yellow card, and Stockport added a second goal.
Sarcevic defeated McGee with a one-two with Wootton.
Rovers were then spared twice by the goal frame, as Wootton’s follow-up hit the crossbar after skipper Ryan Croasdale’s strike had struck a post.
Rob Apter came close twice late on for Tranmere, but they fell to their fourth straight defeat and remain without a point on the road this season.
