Gary O’Neil has just dropped incredibly encouraging Wolves transfer claims ahead of the summer.

Gary O’Neil appeared on talkSPORT this morning, and made an admission regarding the club’s financial situation that would soothe many fans.

O’Neil has had a fantastic start to life at Molineux, defying the odds to propel Wolves to 11th position in the Premier League table after 25 games.

After Julen Lopetegui walked out just days before the start of the season, many analysts predicted that Wolves would struggle or fail.

Wanderers also had to sell a number of key players in the summer to balance their budget.

The sale of important players only adds to O’Neil’s remarkable performance.

According to O’Neil, Wolves’ financial situation has improved significantly.

Gary O’Neil says Wolves don’t have to sell its finest players this summer.

This morning, O’Neil was questioned about potential interest in his players, considering his incredible work with so many of them.
There has already been much talk about who would leave this summer, with Pedro Neto being the player most people expect to leave, despite interest from some major clubs.

However, O’Neil has suggested that, while Wolves will accept large bids, the club will not be under financial pressure to sell.

He told Natalie Sawyer and Dean Saunders, “The good news is, on the player front, we sold several last summer and did not sign many. We didn’t spend anything in January, so we’re in a financial position where we don’t need to lose our top players, or any players, which puts us in a better condition than we were last summer.

“So we can make our own decisions based on what is best for the club, rather than what may be required. So no one will leave unless it suits us. Obviously, if top-tier teams come calling for players and the price is right, and we believe it is beneficial for Wolves, that will always be considered.”

Football rumours: Wolves winger Pedro Neto pursued by four Premier League rivals | The Independent

O’Neil’s comments this morning about the Wolves’ financial situation were clearly positive.

It’s been a difficult moment for the club, having overspent in recent seasons, and there was justifiable concern last summer as Wanderers attempted to balance the books by selling key players.

It now appears that Wolves are in a good place and that this summer will not be a repeat of last year.

However, Pedro Neto, who has long been desired by Arsenal, is likely to be moved.

The ‘dangerous’ Portuguese winger will be pursued by several clubs this summer, and Fosun, who wants Wolves to be self-sustaining, will most likely not want to turn down enormous money.
