Tottenham’s fantasy transfer window: Ivan Toney signs, seven players are cut, and a massive deal to Saudi Arabia

Ange Postecoglou has demanded that Tottenham strengthen their roster this summer.

According to reports, Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham, has requested three fresh additions from the board during the summer transfer window. Sales will undoubtedly be needed to reduce the size of an oversized team that was not selected for the Champions League this season in order for that to occur.

With a number of prominent Spurs players out on loan, several others said to be in the window, and a few promising players in Postecoglou’s sights, Express Sport walks you through what may happen in Tottenham’s ideal summer.

Ivan Toney provides a signature

After stellar individual seasons, both Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez and RB Leipzig’s young forward Benjamin Sesko are believed to have fans in north London. Toney, a striker for Brentford, however, guarantees Premier League goals for those looking for a new striker.

Igor Thiago, a forward worth £30 million, was already purchased by the Bees in anticipation of their star player’s summer departure. Toney has not hidden his want to challenge himself at the highest level, and although reports suggest that Spurs are interested, it is unclear if cost will be a barrier as the Lilywhites are unwilling to spend more than £40 million.

Axed seven players

Giovani Lo Celso, Bryan Gil, and Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg are three players that were part of Postecoglou’s team during the season and are rumored to be available for purchase this summer at the right price. The three have not been able to secure a consistent starting position, and each one might command a high transfer cost.

A number of players who were loaned out in 2023–2024 could be put up for auction by Spurs chairman Daniel Levy in order to acquire additional funds. While Japhet Tanganga is still considering whether to join Millwall permanently following a successful trip across London, Tanguy Ndombele, Sergio Reguilon, and Djed Spence are all expected to return to north London and go directly on the for-sale list.
